Valentine's Day Hits Times Square
If you have taken a walk through Times Square this week you will have noticed a giant red heart. Touch the heart and it starts to beat while measuring your love pulse. If you hold hands with your true love or kiss the heart will glow brighter and beat faster. The 10 foot high heart was installed for Valentine's day by the Times Square Alliance. The piece is built from 400 transparent LED acrylic tubes build around a suspended heart. The neon lights of Times Square are refracted in the tubes and create an amazing glow. BIG, the architectural firm responsible for the heart says the heart reflects what Times Square is famous for - people and light. Don't have a gift for your true love yet? The heart will be on view until the end of the month...so take them on a date!
