Heineken Promotions (Cont.)

Following up on our BeerFriender post last Thursday, we just came across some new additions to the Brand's Social Media campaign.

In Singapore, Heineken is turning the traditional Christmas tree into  a Social tree. The social tree uses 48 LED screens and is 11 meters tall. By using the Facebook app associated with the brand's tree campaign, people will be able to create and post greetings and messages to their loved ones. You can incorporate animation, music, and your own photos to make your posting personal. All the posts are turned onto the Social Tree's screens and signify holiday decorations "hanging" on the tree. If you happen to be in Singapore for the month of December go to Clarke Quay and take a visit.

The second Heineken campaign in promotion of the brand's 140th anniversary. The brand has launched an international design competition to redesign the green bottle. The winner and winning design will be announced in December 2012. As per Cool Hunting (whose Co-Founder Evan Orensten has been selected to judge the design entries), the design mission is to create a bottle that symbolizes how people around the world will connect in the next 140 years. The design competition is open to everyone and anyone. All you have to do is take down the design template, design and place your design over it, and upload it to the Heineken Facebook page. All entries and participants will be online, so why not make some new friends while you are at it.

I can't wait to see what designs come out. You have until January 31st, 2012. And follow the competitions progress via twitter at #yourfuturebottle
