Google's Art Project

Art Project is a Google site that allows you to virtually explore museums online. Using Street View technology you can move around museums and galleries around the world viewing and selecting works that interest you. You can navigate floor plans and learn more about the locations and works of art all with a few clicks of your mouse. It isn't quite the same as spending a relaxing afternoon perusing art in a museum, but it is pretty cool!

The Create an Artwork Collection feature allows you to save specific pieces that interest you and build your own collection. You can make comments and share your collection with friends and family.

The following museums are currently featured on the site:

  • Freer Gallery of Art, Smithsonian, Washington DC - USA
