Incentivising social media is the way to go. Its not always easy, and getting it right is an art. POKE London has paired up with Orange again, this time to bring back the Balloonacy program.  The original campaign launched in 2008, sent 40,000 virtual balloons accross 3000 different sites and 63 million internet miles in a crazy 2 week race to win a group vacation in Ibiza. This time, the race kicks off on November 8th, and racers will be competing for trips to Kenya, Egypt or a Safari Park in the south of England.

The race helps promote Orange among the 16-24 year old crowd. Along with the racers they have been able to incentivise others to join by allowing other brands, sites and blogs to take part. By submitting your site, you can become part of the official race route. As the balloons pass over your site, you gain new traffic and hopefully some customers. The racers and site participants can stay on top of the race via the website, blogs, widgets and app.
