Trash Can Games

Dealing with a city littering problem, the Swiss city Lucerne, has created a few street sticker games to help encourage citizens to through their garbage in the trash can instead of the ground.

Originally launched in 2009, the Lucerne Shines project aimed to educate Lucerne residents on sanitation and put a halt to littering. Each trash can resembles a gaming station - hopscotch, hoops shoot and a maze are some of the featured games. Not sure whether this would work here in the states. I think the games would need to be more interactive or digital to entice people to actually put their trash in the garbage. What do you think?
